National Carers Week is our opportunity to recognise the incredibly important role Carers perform looking after loved ones and family members, so it was fantastic to be the guest speaker and presenter at the Carers Queensland Awards Lunch to recognise the efforts of Carers and the businesses and services that support them!
As always, Carers Qld Nerang Team Leader Max, CEO Debra and their team have done an outstanding job to put this event together! 🙏👍
Up on stage this morning at Nerang State High School as guest presenter for their Annual Sports Awards. Big shoutout to all of the student sports awards recipients including our own Aussie Boxing Champ Michael Johnston; and also to the student leadership group who did an awesome job of hosting the awards and directing me what to do all morning 👍!
Huge thanks also to Deputy Principal Trish Berryman for making me gee so welcome. Trish is retiring this year after 28 years at Nerang High and I will be greatly miss her friendship and support that has been unwavering since I started in this role. I have no doubt she will be even more missed by all the students and teaching staff at the school for her leadership and guidance over the years.
This is such a great school and I consider it a privilege to be part of their fantastic community!
No amount of Labor spin or lies can gloss over the cold, hard fact that Queenslanders are being ripped off by their electricity bills, including families in our local community!
All of Labor’s policies are increasing electricity prices, whether it’s a 3% wage increase for electricity workers - more than teachers, nurses and ambulance officers - the headlong rush to a 50 per cent renewable energy target, or allowing energy executives to rip-off Queenslanders!
POWER companies are accused of deliberately confusing customers and finding loopholes to charge more, sparking the consumer watchdog to consider extraordinary laws so households are no longer worse off.
Perfect morning to be inside at Earle Haven Retirement Village. Speaking with local residents about my efforts in our community and how a Tim Nicholls LNP Government will work hard for seniors, especially with cost of living and healthcare.
Today I had the absolute pleasure to announce that PCYC Nerang were successful in their application for a State Funding Grant for $137,815 to contribute to new Basketball Court flooring at the PCYC. It was awesome to work with Scotty and Bec from the PCYC team for this grant and I couldn't be more proud that we have been successful, as this means so much for all the activities that the PCYC run for our local kids!
